Do you use essential oils in your products? In short, no. While I do believe essential oils have their place, when burned some of them become toxic. Combine that with some just not being safe for pets in general and I decided to stay away from using them. My fragrance oils are phthalate free though (unless stated otherwise). They are also high quality and intended for use in candles.

Do you make everything yourself?Yes! I (Cassie, the owner) make everything myself in my home.

Are your candles safe to burn?Yes! There is of course always a risk when having an open flame, but I do my absolute best to ensure that every candle that leaves my hands is safe to burn. This does mean my candles are more "simple" in appearance than some but there is good reason! When things like dried flowers, crystals, beads, etc. are added to a candle it increases the unintended fire risk dramatically. These things are highly flammable so even if they aren't next to the wick/flame, they can still cause safety issues. As the wax melts they will become free-floating which then puts them at risk of coming into contact with the flame. Our vessels are also not as unique as others but, again, there is a good reason! If the glass is too thin and/or not rated for candles specifically it can overheat and explode. Yep, the fun candles made in vintage teacups or thrifted glass have a high chance of exploding! Safety is a big component of our process which is why you will not find candles made in unsafe vessels at MCC!

How long do your candles burn for? While there are variables that go into this, as a general guide the 9oz candles burn for roughly 40 hours. The 15oz candles burn for roughly 50 hours. This can vary depending on if the wick has been properly trimmed, if there is a draft, if the candle has burned for longer than 4 hours at a time, room temperature, and humidity.

Why did you start making candles?I have always loved candles and everything that smells good! After I had my second child I decided I needed a hobby just for myself. I learned how to (safely) make candles and wax melts and quickly realized I could not use everything I was making 😂. Then Moonlight Candle Co was born! All other products have been added at request of customers! I will always do my very best to accommodate requests so feel free to ask!
